Learn American Sign Language

ASL HandsNew York School for the Deaf offers a series of American Sign Language (ASL) evening classes, for beginners, intermediate level and advanced signers.  American Sign Language (ASL) is the language used by Deaf people in the United States.  Our ASL program is designed to help participants learn vocabulary and the sentence structure needed to communicate through American Sign Language. Each level vary in range of fluency and learning styles. The NYSD ASL classes do not count towards college credits.

ASL 1: New Beginners
ASL 2: Beginners (with basic skills)
ASL 3: Intermediate I
ASL 4: Intermediate II & III
ASL 5: Advanced
ASL 6: Advanced II

Evening Community Classes
TIME:              Wednesday Evenings 6-8 PM (10 weeks)
COST:               $175.00
WHERE:          Ford Hall
WHEN:             Fall Session:  September 28th through December 14th (No classes on Oct.  12th  & Nov. 23rd)
                            Winter Session:  January 11th through March 15th
                           Spring Session:  March 29th through June 7th (No classes on April 12th
